Verdict

Not much winning form on show but MIRZAM (NAP) won over today’s distance at Chepstow on her handicap debut. An apprentice’s allowance negates all of a 7lb rise and Mick Channon’s filly can go in again. Oberyn scored twice over shorter trips on the all-weather earlier this year but has plenty to prove after a poor effort over 1m2f at Goodwood while Russian Regard and Magic Beans look likely to finish closer on the back of modest handicap debuts. Pow Wow and Noble Behest are others to note now handicapping for the first time.
