Verdict

Dazinski caught the eye with the manner of his victory at Yarmouth, quickening stylishly to hit the front inside the final furlong and running right to the line. A Derby entry, what the selection beat on debut is questionable, given that the third was very disappointing at Wolverhampton last time but he is bred to come into his own over further and a mark of 73 is exploitable given the improvement that could be in the pipeline. River Captain steps up to a mile here following a nursery victory over seven furlongs last time at this venue. He showed very little in maiden outings on quick ground but the probability is that he was campaigned with a lenient handicap mark the objective so with that in mind, he is an obvious player, even off a 7lb higher mark. Josiah Bartlett is another leading contender, hailing from a yard that can do little wrong at present. He was handicapped on the basis of outings over shorter trips and as a consequence received a 6lb drop for his first outing over seven furlongs. That effort over seven furlongs brought about a much improved performance and from a 1lb higher mark he warrants real respect. Rose Of Coma, one of three fillies in the race, is back on her favoured good to firm surface and tackles a mile for the first time here. Indications are that should not prove a problem to Gay Kelleway's filly. Sienna Lake, is one of three contenders for the Richard Hannon yard here. She renews rivalry with Pokfulham, who has a 5lb pull for a 2 1/4 length beating at Newmarket. That effort from Pokfulham was a career best effort when first time headgear was applied and provided the visor can once again have the same effect, he could well reverse the form with Sienna Lake on revised terms. This is a competitive nursery but the top-weight DAZINSKI is selected to come home in front.
