Verdict

The classy STARLUCK didn't do a lot wrong when beating Pascha Bere by six lengths on his chase debut at Huntingdon. His turn of foot will always be an effective weapon as long as his jumping holds up and he should follow up here, though Sandown may not be his ideal course. Mamlook was surprisingly beaten at Exeter after beating the useful Tullamore Dew at Fakenham but stays well and will expose any deficiencies in the selection's resolution. Harry Tricker won at Fontwell and Huntingdon before the turn of the year but may struggle to concede weight to his rivals here and Gandalfe showed very little on his only start over fences at Plumpton in November.
