Verdict

A competitive contest to conclude the card and ALAZAN can provide the answer. Frankie Dettori is a very interesting booking for trainer Philip Hobbs on this gelding who was last seen winning a Bangor handicap hurdle in August. Clearly in good heart, he went close over this trip and from this mark at Leopardstown last year and looks worth chancing on ground that suits. Status Symbol is respected first time in a handicap after his Wolverhampton win, while topweight Laudatory is proving hard to win with and has again suffered at the hands of the assessor for a good placed effort. First-time blinkers may rekindle Aestival, while old-timer Wiggy Smith, along with Sagredo and Negotiation would all be entitled to pick up some money if they could produce their best on the day. A tricky race where Alazan is suggested. (Jonathan Doidge)
