Valiant Knight sets a decent standard but with plenty of big yards represented it may pay to take a chance on one of the newcomers; GOOLAGONG looks pretty precocious on paper and is narrowly preferred. A 105,000 guineas purchase, this daughter of Giant's Causeway is out of a two-year-old-winning mare who herself is related to lots of winners at two. Some of the major jockeys are at this meeting rather than York and it may be significant that Seb Sanders rides. Flying Destination and Valiant Knight have the best form on offer, with the latters third at this track looking fair form. Stablemate Private Story shouldn't be overlooked either. Magnetic Force has a very attractive pedigree however it is one that shouts of untold improvement next year not this. Mufarrh made 170,000 guineas as a yearling and needs a watch in the market, as most of the stable's juveniles tend to need the run. Newcomer Inside Track looks the pick of Brian Meehan's duo, although to be fair both may need more time, so a bigger threat may be the once-raced pair of Green Earth and Viking Dancer who both shaped with a degree of promise on their debuts. Goolagong is taken to make a winning debut.
