    Verdict

    GARDE COTIERE has a handful of fancy entries for later in the season and could prove good enough to take this on his reappearance. He won with the minimum of fuss when stepped up to a mile at Newmarket in October and Ryan Moore continues his association, despite riding King Of Jazz to victory over 7f at Doncaster three weeks ago. The latter should appreciate today's extra distance, but Leicester winner Naqshabban will probably be seen at his best over even longer trips later in the year. Nordic Spruce and Joviality return to action and will need to improve on last year's form to figure.
