A tough start to an excellent card but Richard Hughes' presence on board Twice Bitten is intriguing, especially as Richard Hannon runs Songburst. James Toller's charge has only won on Polytrack and Hughes was the successful rider on one of those occasions. Scottish Star is another whose two victories have been on Polytrack and he's only 2lb higher than when scoring at Kempton a month ago but Understory may just be a few pounds high after his victory at Lingfield. Barathea Dancer has some cracking efforts to his credit but surprisingly is still a maiden after 14 starts. Armoise looked potentially useful when scoring easily at Yarmouth in September but didn't appear to stay when well beaten over 1m4f at Leicester. CHAIN OF EVENTS scored over the trip at Newmarket a year ago and has gradually been dropping in the weights. He didn't get the best of runs back at HQ a couple of weeks ago and Hayley Turner, who has been on board for both victories, can steer him to another success.
