In depth

Verdict

Blake Dean won for the first time for Gordon Elliott over hurdles at Perth in July but he fell here on his only previous try over fences when trained by Sue Smith. ANTI COOL made mistakes when opening his account over the larger obstacles at Stratford but was much more fluent at Southwell nine days ago and drew clear in the closing stages. Despite a penalty, Robin Dickin's charge can complete a quick hat-trick. Reverse The Charge has been placed in his last five but the nine-year-old really needs some help from the handicapper while Poetic Lord still has plenty to prove.
