In depth

Verdict

MCMURDO SOUND can come out on top in division one of the maiden; the list of alternatives is headed by Timocracy and Mesbaah. The selection has looked fairly moderate so far on the level but he has run two decent races over hurdles and his trainer looks to have found him a good opportunity to get his head in front. Timocracy has shown some fair form on the level and he looks the type who should have a decent future over hurdles. He is sure to have been well schooled for this his hurdling debut and as he is versatile with regards to the ground he can go well. Mesbaah only managed to get his head in front once in 26 starts on the flat but Richard Fahey is in decent form at present and it would not be a surprise to see him go well on his debut over hurdles. Clarricien ran his best race yet over hurdles at Naas last time out and it will be interesting to see if he build on that here today. This looks a good chance for McMurdo Sound who should take plenty of beating.
