Verdict

COUNSEL won his maiden at Bangor in November before trying his luck in Grade 2 company at Doncaster. He ran well enough that day to suggests he'll be too good for these. Painted Tail is preferred to stablemate Phoenix Returns but neither of the Alan Swinbank runners make much appeal against the four-year-olds which include the former Dermot Weld-trained Three Kingdoms, who won a Galway maiden last September and looks the type to flourish over timber once he gains experience.
