Starplex won over a shorter trip at Newcastle on his racecourse debut but just held on and has a penalty to carry here. ROUGH KING would almost certainly have won a point-to-point in Ireland in November had he not come down at the last. He clearly has some ability and is fancied to make a winning start under Rules as Laird Of Monksford finished tailed off at Uttoxeter on his introduction and Surging Seas was a little disappointing at Warwick last month. Debutants Silver Vogue and Tom Lamb should be monitored for any market interest.
