In depth

Verdict

Hawdyerwheesht has taken to timber well enough without setting the world on fire and is sure to be happier returned to novice company. It's tempting to row in with the Newland inmate but PENNYS TUNE, an in-form Irish raider, makes more appeal, having landed two Downpatrick handicaps from her last three starts. She gets on very well with Derek Fox whose 5lb claim will aid her cause further. From Group 1 success in France to a Sedgefield novice hurdle for John Quinn via Spieta who scored on her hurdling debut and is open to progress. However, that was only a mares' maiden hurdle that she narrowly landed and she'll need to improve considerably on the formbook to handle the penalised duo.
