Verdict

Mr Clarkson beat CRACKDELOUST a couple of lengths in a qualifier for this here last month with Reverant Cust a well-beaten third. But the runner-up is a healthy 9lb better off with the David Pipe runner and Brian Ellison is bidding to land this valuable prize for the second year running. Bollin Ace would have easily beaten Justforjames again at Newcastle had he not crashed out at the last. Providing this mishap hasn’t left its mark, the top weight is a threat to all but Dear Sire only won a modest maiden at Musselburgh and looks to have been harshly treated by the handicapper. Indy Island is receiving plenty of weight but has some improving to do.
