In depth

Verdict

PRINCE ERIK has run 31 times but this is the first time Ruby Walsh has sat on him. Dermot Weld's very useful hurdler - he was runner-up to Buena Vista in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham in March - has fallen in three of his six starts over the bigger obstacles so can hardly be described as a banker here but he jumped well enough when runner-up to Chicago Grey at Galway and must be given another chance. Carrigmartin has quickly had his attentions turned to chasing after looking a progressive type over timber and he can go well while Mulberry Boy jumped really well when caught close home by For A Finish at Kilbeggan and has victories between the flags and in a bumper to his credit. Rory's Pleasure is the type to win races this season though his very long absence may count against him this time.
