        Verdict

        Some old friends on view and Charlie Delta is taken to account for Funfair Wane and Soba Jones. Charlie Delta is at least in some semblance of form and while the terms are unfavourable from that of a handicap, BHB ratings can often count for little in races of this nature and it is hoped that the five furlong specialist can cope with the step up in trip here. Funfair Wane would be a shoe-in on his old form but his recent efforts have given little to write home about. The market is watched in order to see whether today is the day. Soba Jones won this race last year and while his recent form is hardly inspiring, John Balding is sending out winners. Ten Prophets makes a British debut having campaigned previously in Spain. Penel won a non-seller last time out but there are paradoxically better horses here. Majik is at least consistent and can be expected to run his usual race. Not a particularly exciting event but Charlie Delta looks the one to be on.
