    Verdict

The veteran Aureate was winning for only the second time since 2009 when scoring by a short-head over 1m4f here last month. But the other recent winner, JOYFUL MOTIVE, makes more appeal. The latter opened his account with a four length victory in an amateurs race over course and distance a week ago and is taken to reverse earlier running over 2m with Adili. Freedom Flying was still beaten out of sight when third at this venue while age appears to have caught up with Overrule who continues on a downward spiral.
