Cloudy Dawn is a first ride over hurdles for Zachery-James Gaughan but his mount, although having plenty of ability, is hardly a reliable performer. Landenstown Star is woefully one-paced but may be suited by this test while Fidelor was second over a similar trip at Huntingdon on his penultimate start. Peqeno Diablo's run here last month was too bad to be true but Detour Ahead is probably better over fences nowadays, though must have a chance in a race of this nature. MARMALADE MAN was still beaten 34 lengths when third at Plumpton but has contested better races in general so gets a tentative vote as Veratan doesn't look up to much either.
