In depth

Verdict

BOULDERS BEACH has been bumped up the weights after winning a similar race here in fine style last month, and Sue Smith's runner can repeat that today, being preferred to Painted Sky and Bazart. He's had injury problems in the past, and had a three year lay-off with a fractured knee, but that seems well and truly behind him. The hike in the weights seems him still with plenty in hand on some, and he seems to have similar sort of races within his scope. This is a step up in class though. Painted Sky won well last time, and usually goes best at this time of the year, and he may be a step ahead of the handicapper. Bazart is also looking for back to back wins, and although not always the most fluent jumper, has a game attitude and determination aplenty. A competitive contest, with preference being for Boulders Beach.
