Verdict

As with the first division of this handicap, there's precious little winning form on offer and the best option could be to stick with SAFE INVESTMENT. He ran out a clear winner at Newton Abbot last week and a 7lb penalty may not be enough to stop Lawney Hill's charge from going in again. Humourous has posted a couple of better efforts of late but one win in 43 starts over hurdles doesn't boost confidence in his chances, while Mortar's recent win came in a hunter chase. Poppy Gregg has a recent run on the Flat under his belt and looks the biggest danger judged on his best form over timber.
