    Verdict

ANGEL SONG looks a good thing here in the smallest field on the card, and is taken to land the spoils ahead of Fesko and Premier Lad. Sir Mark Prescott's filly makes her handicap debut off a mark of 76 following her debut success here over this trip last month. She cost 75,000 Guineas, and turned over an odds on favourite to win what wasn't a very competitive affair, so it remains to be seen how good she is. Premier Lad is another course and distance winner, so again there's no concern over his ability to handle the surface, as he makes his handicap debut. He broke his maiden last time out after being gelded, and has plenty in hand at the weights. Fesko concedes weight all round for Mark Johnston and Greg Fairley, who have an impressive strike rate here. It's his track debut, and his only success to date came on fast ground at Catterick over the minimum trip, so that should be borne in mind. Denton Diva won here last time out, but has been off the track since November, but any market confidence should be noted. However we think first home will be Angel Song.
