      Verdict

Despite the prize value, it appears unlikely that we'll be seeing any superstars but AIR LION is given another chance to see off Firtyfourth Street and Florentina. The selection bombed out spectacularly at odds of 2/5 during the winter in a similar maiden but the fact that we haven't seen him for so long suggests to us that there were obvious reasons for the defeat that have taken some time to patch up. Firtyfourth Street appeared to appreciate the application of a tonguetie last time. He is interestingly dropped back in trip. Florentina already has a BHA mark. Sir Mark Prescott's charge was a little disappointing at Kempton though has a very favourable draw tonight. Ed Dunlop had a number of successes over the weekend so watch the market in relation to Little Calla. She was well punted at Windsor last time out though could be called one of the first beaten in that contest. Abu Derby has had more experience than most on this surface. His two runs this summer have not exactly suggested that he has progressed. Evna will be qualified for handicaps following this appearance and will make plenty of appeal once tried in that sphere. Residency was well held in a Beverley maiden and needs to improve. Air Lion is not without questions to answer but we will offer him a chance of redemption.
