Verdict

Saeed Bin Suroor's Magic Doll stepped up on the form of her debut effort when landing a Kempton maiden last month and she has to be respected on her nursery debut off a mark of 81 but she may be a shade high in the weights for what she has achieved and it could be worth siding with NORTH SHADOW, who gets the vote ahead of Karaka Jack. Mark Johnston's colt showed improved form on his latest start when opening his account in a York maiden and the son of Pivotal has to be respected off a mark of just 75 on his Fibresand debut. Count Bertoni is closely matched with Karaka Jack on running at York so has to be considered, while Imperial Warrior is hard to recommend having been well beaten in both starts in nurseries. Stef And Stelio was dropped into a claimer to open his account last month and is likely to struggle to follow up here having been raised 7lbs since that success. The vote then goes the way of Alan Brown's North Shadow, who appreciated the switch to a nursery when winning well at Nottingham earlier this month and, on a surface that should suit he can defy the 10lb rise for that success.
