In depth

Verdict

With so many newcomers to hurdling here, we'll side with experience and go with Owain James, ahead of Opening Hand and Doctor Robert. With so little form though, and none for almost half the field, it's worth noting any significant market support. Opening Hand got the better of Owain James last month in less testing conditions at Uttoxeter, but has considerably more to lug around this time. He¿s not been able to follow up that success since, while the latter made a return to the flat at Brighton, finishing well down the field. Tom Dascombe's Doctor Robert will have learned from his only previous run over hurdles here last month. But our selection, which is tentative, is Owain James to reverse form with Opening Hand.
