In depth

Verdict

Auvergnat has his first run over fences in this country having shown up well in a couple of starts over timber. He'll be winning soon while the lightly-raced In Fairness is getting closer and could be well handicapped at present. That pair have more scope than the likes of Forgotten Gold, Richmond and Midnight Lira but Goodtoknow should be thereabouts again and Ballinvarrig is eased in grade. Umberto D'Olivate has struggled this season, however, and has yet to convince that he stays this far. WHAT A GOOD NIGHT (NAP) may well have remained unbeaten this season with a bit more luck. No blame could be attached to Dan Skelton's seven-year-old last time at Ludlow and he still looks to be an upward curve so can recoup losses.
