STAGE ACCLAIM is unlikely to get many better chances to break his duck over fences. Richard Newland's six-year-old is improving with experience over the larger obstacles and has been a little unlucky to come up against some decent novices in his last three races. He gets 7lb from Five Out Of Five, a wide-margin winner at Fakenham last month, and Irish hunter chaser Jamsie Hall. Court Red Handed has a bit of scope and Sarah Humphrey's winning pointer could be interesting in time, though is likely to need this after a seven-month break.
