Mavalenta has been in fair form lately and the mare has been eased a couple of pounds since finishing third to Cinderella Rose at Plumpton. She should be thereabouts again while Kala Patthar stepped up on previous efforts when chasing home hot favourite Speed Master at Towcester on Boxing Day and could be capable of better. Shilpa is starting to slip down the weights again but would prefer a faster surface and Glassawine was tailed off on his comeback run and doesn't look the easiest of rides. DOUBLE HANDFUL found 3m too far at Hereford in November but had been in good form on the Flat prior to that run. Lawney Hill's six-year-old gets the vote back over a more suitable distance with David Bass' claim an added bonus.
