A poor opener where Sninfia will be popular with a low weight to carry and a win last time, Welsh Main merits consideration and Royal Prodigy can also go well and the vote goes to Welsh Main. Rated the best of this ordinary lot, Tor Sturgis's gelding loves a sound surface and this trip. He was done no favours when hampered last time and with a clear round here he can make an impact and win. Royal Prodigy won on good to soft in a Fontwell handicap last month and is not favoured by the weights here but he is at least in good heart and can go well. Sninfia was game when just holding on to score in similar company at Chepstow last time but as with so many of these consistency is not her strong suit and it is not advisable to lump on for the follow up. Barren Lands will be much better for a recent pipe opener after more than a year off and certainly has claims if he can run to something like his chase mark, but preference is for Welsh Main.
