In depth

Verdict

MILO MAN, who made a winning debut in a heavy-ground bumper here a year ago, was an impressive winner of his hurdling bow at Carlisle and though slightly disappointing at Leicester next time should be good enough with his stable remaining in tremendous form. All But Grey is the other penalised runner after a convincing success on testing ground here ten days ago and there's likely to be much more to come. Thomas Junior will have learnt from his opening run over hurdles at Doncaster where he made too many mistakes but triple point-to-point winner Liberty One may find this on the short side. John Louis won four times on the Flat in 2012 including a handicap at Newmarket on heavy ground. He hasn't been out since the summer of that year but could be a decent hurdling prospect and is one to note.
