An interesting contest featuring several in-form handicappers and a couple of lightly-raced types who are probably a bit better than they've shown so far. Ebony Clarets and Ingleby Angel are both in the first category and bidding for a hat-trick. The latter is much preferred as he got the better of a protracted duel with Giorgio's Dragon over a mile here last time while the former has only been winning in sellers and claimers. Vital Calling got off the mark at Newcastle last month but See Clearly couldn't follow up his win over 6f here at Ripon and Sardanapalus' second to Fennell Bay at Newmarket in May seems a long time ago now. Ginger Monkey races on Turf for the first time so we're prepared to take a chance on SHATTER. She's only raced once so far this term, at Lingfield in May, but that was a very promising effort and she's potentially well treated in her first handicap so gets the nod.
