      Verdict

Prince Namid, Pomfret Lad and Bluebok are the three that catch the eye here and preference is for Pomfret lad, who will appreciate the underfoot conditions. Prince Namid is nine pounds higher than when scoring at Beverley last time but ground conditions will be similar here and although drawn in stall one, when the going is testing, runners sometimes go over to the far rail and it neednt be a disadvantage. The handicapper has reacted harshly to that win though, and he may find others have been given more leeway. A Bath winner on fast ground last June, Bluebok ran an improved race to be second to stablemate Peopleton Brook at Lingfield on the Polytrack. That was a good effort, and as he also handles the soft ground, he can go close here. After drawing a blank last season, Pomfret Lad has run well on his three starts so far in this campaign, including a win at Ripon. Trainer John Quinn still rates his sprinter highly, and he can continue to give a good account. He is well drawn in stall twelve here, just three off the favoured stands rail, and he can win again. Pomfret Lad gets the vote.
