Just fillies in this two-year-old maiden and from a shortlist of Blue Avon, Knockenduff, Emeralds Spirit and MARIE DE MEDICI, it is the last-named who is taken to oblige. Having shaped with promise on her debut at Haydock behind the smart Jeanie Johnston, the selection then ran a game race in defeat at York. Having set a testing enough tempo she battled on well having been headed and lost little in defeat; compensation awaits. Richard Fahey saddled the second-placed horse in that York contest and should know where he stands. Today he has Blue Avon in the race; she was unfancied for her debut at Haydock when apprentice-ridden but it would be no surprise to see her step up markedly now up in distance with Paul Hanagan aboard. Admire The View shaped with promise at Nottingham first time up, Captain's Paradise is bred to improve with time and a trip, whilst Emeralds Spirit and Knockenduff must both be of interest now facing a seventh furlong for the first time and the last-named comes from a yard with a history of sending some good horses to the track. Timeless Elegance is related to plenty of winners, and there is plenty of class on the dam's side, whilst Seven Of Diamonds ran in a decent York maiden last time and shaped as if this longer trip will suit. Another minefield but some fascinating contenders; preference is for Marie De Medici.
