Verdict

Captain Dunne managed to roll back the years with a success at Haydock Park under today's rider but conditions were markedly different on that evening so it could pay to be looking elsewhere. PERFECT BLOSSOM was fifth on that occasion, but with a healthy pull at the weights and more suitable ground, Alan Berry's mare can reverse the form. Greek Spirit won a Wolverhampton handicap for Jeremy Noseda but was well beaten during the week on her debut for a new yard. Jofranka has yet to rediscover the form that saw her post three victories last season though she has a useful apprentice booked. Both she and Dusty Storm tend to race prominently and this could prove to be a major advantage in this "hands and heels" only race.
