Lascalahall looked the winner at Naas last time until caught on the run-in by Saoirse Dun so the winner can give a pointer to his chances in the previous race. Connections of Clashnabrook took advantage of an exceptionally lenient chase mark to score at Gowran on Saturday but won't be pleased to see him handed a massive 16lb rise in the ratings and this looks tougher. WHISKEY AND RED showed very little in five starts over fences hence his very lowly handicap mark but he's improved over hurdles and is on such a low weight that he's taken to gain his first success over the bigger obstacles. Amber Knight ran well here in January before scoring at Down Royal so goes on the short-list despite a long break.
