In depth

Verdict

Courtin Bb gained her only career victory in 32 starts in this race a year ago but she's been running poorly and is only 1lb lower. Naturally Blond has an almost identical profile and was backpedalling when falling at Tipperary last time. COTTONVALE has never won but almost did so when just touched off here in April then ran another fine race at Tipperary before falling at Clonmel. She gets the vote over Swift, who has run very well over fences the last twice and can revert to hurdles on an 8lb lower mark. Something Sweet is gradually getting her act together and her narrow defeat at Clonmel puts her right in the picture.
