In depth

Verdict

Bearaway can defy topweight at the expense of Amarula Ridge, Kings Brook and Saafend Rocket. Bearaway has been been rising in the handicap thanks to some good efforts this year, and has already been led into the winner's enclosure by the new incumbent at Bankhouse. He made a bold bid to defy a 9lb rise in the weights when second at Hexham recently, and should go close again here under Graham Lee. Amarula Ridge showed his wellbeing by landing a fast-ground amateur riders' event at Huntingdon recently, and with Tony McCoy in the saddle now, will be a popular choice. Richard Johnson instead rides Saafend Rocket who will be suited by the drop back in trip, after finishing fourth over two-and-a-half miles at Worcester last time. Kings Brook has been second on each of his last two outings, most recently at Newton Abbot, and should be knocking on the door again, while Kety Star will come on for a recent return at Stratford. In what is a close one to call, Bearaway has solid claims.
