A competitive start to the card with Killone Moonlight, Lord Jay Jay and The Cool Guy all short listed with the vote going to the last named. A winner of two bumper races last year including the Aintree Champion bumper The Cool Guy then finished second behind Refinement at the Punchestown Festival. He looks an interesting recruit to hurdles and if translating last years form will take all the beating on his hurdles bow. Killone Moonlight won easily around the same track last time out but showed signs of attitude when flashing his tail when coming under a little pressure. This looks like a stiffer task so should be treated with caution. Lord Jay Jay looked like he would improve for his first outing of the season at Bangor last time out when finishing second of nine. Again this race is better so improvement will be needed. So for the winner we return to The Cool Guy.
