Verdict

It took Kilvergan Boy 12 attempts to get off the mark over fences and he finished behind Home She Goes over 2m5f here in April. Last month's Perth winner must be worth opposing off a 4lb higher mark. Walls Way's Market Rasen third hasn't worked out, but Gem Mill must go on the short-list having found only one too good in both starts since winning at Newton Abbot in May. Sailor's Sovereign was put up 6lb after finishing second at Cartmel, however, and has to give 5lb to KILSHANNA. Never sighted in five runs over hurdles, David Pipe's gelding should leave that form well behind now tackling fences as he's a half-brother to two winning pointers and has already had experience of the larger obstacles between the flags in Ireland. Market interest would increase confidence that he can break his duck under Rules here.
