In depth

Verdict

SMUGLIN was a shade disappointing when only third at Wetherby earlier this month but her earlier defeat of Hollo Ladies at Market Rasen has worked out well and Donald McCain's mare is fancied to rediscover the winning habit here at the main expense of Evella. The latter appreciated the drop in grade to end a run of poor form at Folkestone 12 days ago and should be thereabouts here if in the same mood. Home She Goes will have needed her comeback run and has a higher rating over hurdles than Here's The Key, who fell on her only previous start over the larger obstacles and may be best watched today.
