In depth

Verdict

The market is usually informative in these contests and a quartet of newcomers - Bubba N Squeak, David Cricket, Le Breuil and No No Tubs - all require a market check. Hahnenkam, strongly backed when second on his bumper debut, is clearly well thought off by the Durack camp and should go well with that experience under his belt, whilst Phoeniciana revealed promise on her debut at Huntingdon and should progress further. However, Nicky Henderson has an excellent record in races of this nature and RIVER WYLDE sets a good standard on the back of a promising first run for the yard in March in what looked a pretty decent Haydock bumper. He was a little green that day and should prove more streetwise now.
