Verdict

Shirocco Star was second in the Oaks in both England and Ireland last year and also placed in the Ribblesdale at Royal Ascot. But the fact that she's failed to win since her two-year-old days has to be a cause for concern and she didn't run very well when fancied over a slightly shorter trip at Newmarket on her reappearance. Dark Orchid is also struggling to get her head back in front, though makes more appeal than stablemate La Arenosa. Rhagori looks a progressive type while Sound Hearts won in this grade at Newmarket in the autumn but there should be more to come this year from GALLIPOT and, after a comeback fourth at Newbury, John Gosden's Galileo filly gets the nod.
