In depth

Verdict

Garde Ville and Hinxworth have been in good heart between the flags and the latter also showed up quite well when runner-up in a Fontwell hunters' chase last time. However, it is hard to see them troubling the joint topweights and there's very little to choose between Port Melon and ROYALRAISE. There was just a nose between them last time at the end of over 3m at Towcester and once again the Sherwood inmate is taken to prevail as he may prove better suited by this less demanding track. He was the subject of good market support at Towcester and he may well have returned to better form this year after a relatively fallow previous period. Port Melon will prove a tough nut crack though once again.
