UNDER FIRE gets the nod in the finale. The in-form Kingsholm has to merit respect, while Intensifier represents a canny yard and, as he is unexposed on turf, he is one to monitor in the betting. A long absence has to be a concern but, as there is little hidden strength amongst the others, the four-year-old has to be marked down as one of the more interesting contenders. Kingsholm has 12lb extra to carry as a result of winning his last two starts in a game manner. Rated just short of Listed class at his best, the six-year-old is still on a fair mark and he should make a bold bid to land his third consecutive victory. However, Under Fire is solid obstacle on the route to success and, having gone close in a couple of these races already this season, the Tony Carroll-trained gelding looks a good bet to get an overdue seasonal win to his name.
