Verdict

Ferdy Murphy's PISTOL BASC won well here over three miles last month and can follow up that success despite having gone up 10lb in the weights following that earlier victory. Rose Dobbin's Guns And Butter faces no easy task giving weight away all round and of more interest may be Micky Hammond's Archie's Wish, who is closely matched with the selection on running here last time but he may not appreciate the drop in trip. Northern Quest has been given a chance by the handicapper ahead of his reappearance but has yet to prove that he stays this far, while John Wade's Jeringa is hard to recommend following his most recent outing but does represent a yard in form. Sue Smith's You Know Yourself completes the sextet but makes limited appeal on recent form over hurdles.
