In depth

Verdict

King In Waiting has been consistent enough over timber but was beaten a long way on his return to the track on the Flat at Southwell last week. Quapriland blundered her way round Exeter when last seen in November and will need to jump much better and Devil Water has shown very little to date. Humbie looked promising when scoring over hurdles at Kelso last March and should have benefited from the experience of his first start over fences at Catterick but point-to-point winner Mini Beck is a little long in the tooth to start a new career over regulation fences and was well beaten at Sedgefield a fortnight ago. MR SYNTAX has yet to win a race but would have done so but for falling three out at Newcastle last time and his overall form suggests it's his turn today.
