In depth

Verdict

Groovejet has scope after just the two runs over timber. Deepsand showed a glimmer of his old ability last time at Uttoxeter and Hartside takes a big drop in class. Lift The Lid pulled well clear at Fakenham last month but that form looks suspect and he’s been hit with a 9lb rise. Circus Star, one of four previous course winners in the line-up, is still coming down the weights so shouldn’t be ignored but is taken on with the two three-year-olds. PONGO TWISTLETON is progressing nicely and should be winning soon. He is just preferred to Skeaping, though the latter was rated almost 20lb higher on the level and any improvement on his latest second at Gowran would make him tough to beat.
