Verdict

Quest For Gold is bred to be a champion but his form to date has been disappointing to say the least. His stable also run the newcomer Dance At Dawn, a Montjeu colt out of a mare from the family of several high-class middle-distance winners. ALBURJ had looked promising when a close second to Unity at Fairyhouse and though she couldn't step-up on that effort when a long way behind Mikhail Glinka in Royal Ascot's Queen's Vase she found that 2m trip much too far. Behtarini's legion of admirers must be feeling the pinch as John Oxx' gelding has been a beaten favourite on his last five starts. He owes those supporters plenty but his frustrating run may not have ended just yet.
