In depth

Verdict

Tico was slowly improving over timber but it looked as though chasing would be his game when making his debut at Tramore where he had every chance when falling at the second last. He'll be fancied to make amends but BECKWITH STAR looks the one to be on. Henry De Bromhead's charge has always looked as though he would do better over fences and has been given a break following a promising run in a similar race to this at Limerick in March. Bold Present improved tremendously over hurdles in the spring and is one to note on his chasing bow, while Seaside Shuffle didn't run badly in a better race than this when having his first run over the bigger obstacles at Thurles. Nivek's Dream fell on his only start over fences and his two hurdling victories in the summer came on fast ground.
