Verdict

David Pipe's King Bathwick has a nice racing weight and may now do better now sent handicapping but he has been beaten a long way in all three starts over hurdles and a safer bet looks to be BAWN BOY, who gets the verdict ahead of Dancewiththedevil. The last mentioned ran better when third at Hereford last time and he has to be respected but may just be a shade high in the weights. Charlie Mann could hardly have his string in better form at present so his runner High Profit has to be respected but he would need to improve on the form shown at Fakenham last time to take a hand in the finish here. Alison Thorpe's Bayberry King was well held over fences at Hereford last time and may do better back over hurdles, while Graham's Girl is less exposed than her rivals but needs to improve on all known form to trouble the judge. In a moderate finale it is Bawn Boy that gets the vote. Andrew Turnell's gelding has not been seen since March last year so fitness has to be taken on trust but the trainer is capable of producing one ready after an absence and he looks worth chancing on previous form in such a poor contest.
