In depth

Verdict

THE RAINBOW HUNTER is a nominal selection in an open race where Strategic Plan and Itea Du Fau are others of interest. It's difficult to weigh up Andy Turnell's runner after just two starts under Rules but he certainly shaped well on his hurdling bow when taking third behind the well regarded pair Pepe Simo and Henry King. The form of his outing at Ascot has also worked out pleasingly which suggests that he's on a fair mark ahead of his handicap bow whilst it's encouraging that Andy Turnell has had a welcome winner this month. Itea Du Fau is difficult to weigh up as the market clearly suggested that a decent run was expected from her on debut for the yard only for her to weaken as though something was amiss. It will be interesting to see what the market makes of her chances this time around. Strategic Plan has been in decent form whilst Mister Pous made a decent debut for his yard in December but Nick Williams had a strongly fancied runner disappoint in the week which is a concern. Dream Catcher and Gan On are unexposed and are, therefore, open to improvement whilst Gaspara is well handicapped if she ever recaptures her enthusiasm for the game. Cantabilly is not without an each-way chance but one horse stands out at first glance and that horse is The Rainbow Hunter.
