Verdict

Malibu Sun carries a penalty for his win at Newton Abbot back in May and arrives on the back of a good effort in a handicap. Briefcase has been running well in novice company of late with a couple of placed efforts and can also figure. He had Miss Tinks well behind last time, but Blues And Twos and Sovereigns Legacy have shown nothing to recommend them so far. Winning pointer MENDIP EXPRESS won't have to be anything special to claim this on his racecourse debut and, given he's a half-brother to four winning hurdlers, gets the vote to do so.
